Buyer reviewI was introduced to Paul Champlin in early November, through a friend of a friend who had done business with Paul many times. The first time we spoke on the phone, I felt like we clicked immediately. I explained that I was looking to purchase a home for my nephew who had been displaced by the Camp Fire, but that I was not familiar with the geographic area or the local market. Knowing this, Paul was great; he asked a lot of questions and listened to my answers very carefully. In return, I asked A LOT of questions and Paul was so great at educating me on everything from the various neighborhoods, which are better for rental, which for resale, families, schools, shopping, freeway access etc. To help me understand the neighborhoods, on my first trip up, he showed us 4 houses in different areas. I really appreciated that. It helped in deciding where we wanted to focus. I also learned something else that day - - - given the huge number of homes that were lost in the neighboring communities creating an influx of buyers, I was entering uncharted territory when it came to the current sales market. As such, it was very difficult to ascertain what the "right" price would be to offer, especially when there were 20+ bidders on every home, oh, and by the way, you have 6 hours to get your offer in! Over the following 6 week period after we first met, Paul relentlessly showed us houses, kept us up to date immediately as each new home in our size range hit the market, wrote multiple offers for us and most importantly he was super sympathetic and caring and let me cry on his shoulder (well, over the phone) when I had a mini-breakdown after finding out we'd lost our 5th home ("Paul, when is it going to be our turn?"). Paul stayed positive and confident throughout this process ("We will find the home that's just right for you") and it occurred to me one day, he was probably having to have these same tough conversations with multiple clients, every day; that could not have been easy - but I never knew. I always felt like we were the only clients he was working with. I had many conversations with him at 10:00 or 11:00 at night and emails at 1:00AM; he was working really hard for us. All the stress became worth it on December 17th when our offer was accepted! But Paul's work was not done there; he arranged the inspections (full home, pest, roof), reviewed them, went over them with us, got estimates on the things needing to be fixed, met with the window company and stayed close to the title company to ensure that we would close on time and we did!! So, would I recommend Paul Champlin? Only if you're looking for a great real estate partner, someone who will always have your best interest at heart, someone who will work hard and advocate for you, someone who you can reach by phone, email or text, anytime day or night and lastly, someone who you would call "friend" and stay in touch with after your transaction has closed. If this is what you're looking for, then YES! ABSOLUTELY! Sent from my iPad
