Wayne was born in Oklahoma City and moved to Southern California as a child. He served in the U.S. Air Force and later received a bachelors degree from San Diego State University and a master's degree from the University of Minnesota. Wayne moved to the beautiful village of Sierra Madre in 1977 where he raised two sons and coached their Little League and soccer teams.
