The concierge service was a very nice service provided by Century 21 and we appreciated some suggestions made by our concierge.
We had contacted 55places.com and lucky for us, Debbie Temkin was the person who followed up on their behalf. We're from Atlanta and we needed someone familiar with Boynton Beach's (and surrounding area) 55+ communities when we were in Florida for Christmas vacation.
Debbie Temkin was always very pleasant, personable and professional throughout the time she worked with us, which was about 2 years (Covid years...). After our first trip to Florida, we tried to focus on just a few communities we had liked that had the things we were looking for, which became clearer to us over that 2-year period as we were only in Florida a couple times in those years.
In between trips, she continually sent us emails of specific properties in those communities and followed up and followed through on any questions we asked. Throughout the entire process of looking at properties and closing the sale, Debbie made the long-distance "shopping" situation seamless.
After a couple years of this, the pandemic had eased up quite a bit, more properties were put on the market and prices went down some. We finally found one of the properties she'd forwarded to us very interesting. However, we were unable to go down to Florida at that time to see it in person (and were unwilling to purchase anything we hadn't seen personally) .
Debbie suggested that we do a Zoom walk through while she did a walk through of the house, which at least enabled us to ask about some details we weren't able to see clearly.
We didn't want to let this property get away and suspected that it might sell quickly. So we discussed our options with Debbie.
She advised us that we could make an offer, and see if we could come to terms with the seller which we did. Debbie advised us that if we (or one of us) could arrange to come down to Florida to personally see the property during a 10-day window for an inspection, we would still have the opportunity to back out if we weren't pleased with the property or any issues the inspector might uncover. That worked out perfectly. Debbie even offered to pick me up at the airport (which I totally appreciated), though I preferred to rent a car in order to take care of some other things while I was there.
She advised us that we could sign any documents virtually without needing to make another trip.
She continued to be of help even after the closing. As we wanted a property manager we hired to make some repairs before we were ready to move in and he would need access to the house, she offered to put a lockbox on the house to simplify things. When we finally came down a month later to move in, she stopped by to answer several questions we had about details in the house. She really made the whole process easy for us with her knowledge of the area, her professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile.
