I knew the market in CDA was tight and crazy, so I worked first with Quicken Loans to find out if I could even afford to be in the market. They assured me I could. Then they asked me who I was working with. When I said that I didn’t have anyone, they said they recommended Franco DeSimone. I said sure, knowing if I didn’t get along with him, I’d change agents. But Franco was excellent.
One of the things we did is look at the market, he worked with my banker to get an idea of what I could afford (which was more than I realized) and that changed my parameters. Then we looked at various properties. I am on the “under median” market. I was buying a house to be rented out, so I had certain parameters such at least 2 bathrooms, and 3 or 4 bedrooms. I wanted CDA, and oh yeah, I needed it move in ready and under $430K, that wasn’t something I thought would happen. But there was more out there than I realized.
We discussed the rental market as we looked at some of the houses, and he gave excellent feedback. I bid on at least 5 other properties before getting this one. He helped me fix up the house for rental—even mowing the lawn for me! I live in a hotel and had no tools. Franco gave me some names of people who would fix up the house for rental. Franco DeSimone is the only one I would recommend. And if I get a lottery win, I’ll use him again to be my agent.
