I was put in the difficult position of having to sell my late mother's house, where she had lived for 39 years. I had never sold a house before. Mom's house was in fine shape, but definitely needed some work before we could put it on the market. Andy Higgins, my realtor helped me with every aspect of this process. Together we set forth a plan, scheduled contractors (many suggested by Andy - all who were fantastic), made appropriate appointments, handled paperwork, made phone calls, did physical chores, dealt with legal issues, neighborhood issues, county issues, HOA issues, and list goes on. Andy was always available, always positive, and always had answers. Andy didn't just list Mom's house and wait for buyers to show up. Andy worked hard and put in a lot of time and effort and helped in every way to allow the sale happen! The best decision I made during the entire process was choosing Andy Higgins.

When looking to buy a home, which is an intense experience, you need an agent who is both knowledgeable and trustworthy. Andy Higgins has both in spades, in my experience.
Andy was our agent after I had used Redfin for a while and found the Redfin service acceptable but somewhat impersonal. Andy did exactly what I needed him to do - he has extensive knowledge of Northern Virginia and could look at a home and tell me his honest opinion about a home, including everything that was a potential issue about it. He could go into detail about the problems of a specific home, which I needed because I don't know a lot about homes.
I trusted Andy to help me find the right home that was in my best interests, not just close a sale. And his extensive experience provided great perspective on a lot of the homes we looked at. He was incredibly patient, and there was never a moment where I thought he wasn't working in my best interests. For that, I am incredibly grateful.
Having purchased my first home through Redfin, I found one of the biggest differences to be that Andy was very adept at driving offer strategy, which was another critical missing area of mine. In my experience, Andy really helped take the driver's seat on pushing for the best offer in successfully getting an incredible home in a tough market. For that, I am grateful.
