I was living in Oklahoma and searching for a home in Alabama which made it imperative that the realtor was detail oriented, had excellent communication skills, listened to me carefully, respected me, took the task seriously and understood what I was searching for in a home; Bert Owens was that realtor. I have worked with a half dozen realtors over the years and as I look back and compare them with Bert, there is no comparison. Prior to working with Bert, I feel I was clueless of what true professionalism and dedication an agent should demonstrate. Unlocking a front door and telling you the obvious e.g. "To the left is the dining room and to the right is the family room and kitchen" is how many realtors define their role; without hesitation they call themselves professional realtors. Bert was with me every step of the journey i.e. the search, the initial showing, walk-thru, inspection, signing of contracts, etc. Bert, went to properties took photos on the weekends when realtors I worked with in the past wouldn't answer or return my calls after Friday 3:00 pm; I would be left to wait until the following Monday. Bert talked with attorneys, the home inspector and the listing agent on my behalf. Bert was very detailed in relaying all the pros and cons of the properties she visited, taking the time to go through each photo she took, explaining what details she wanted me to focus on, answering any question I raised along the way. Bert made me feel comfortable knowing she was looking after my best interest and fighting the battles that needed to be fought with the listing agent as well as educating me along the way. I would recommend Ms. Owens to any buyer or seller; her background as a retired educator carries over to her being a true professional real estate agent. That you Bert!
