Welcome to 1200 South Pasadena Avenue, Pasadena, a single story vernacular Italianate cottage built in 1885 by an unknown architect, as noted in the National Register of Historic Places. Located in the Pasadena Avenue Historic District, it has an asymmetrical, multi-level roof that includes a primary hipped roof, side gables, and a one-story polygonal tower. All have boxed eaves and a decorative cornice with carved brackets. Exteriors are clad in a variety of wood siding including clapboard, tongue and groove and shiplap. A one-story entry porch has a brick stoop and stairs, a hipped roof and delicate turned porch supports. Wood frames with a simple segmentally arched crown and carved corbels are notable details. This house is one of the few remaining Italianate cottages from the pre-1890 period in Pasadena's history.
