After a stressful day away from home you turn onto Kueffler. You open the windows and enjoy the fresh air. As you drive through Beacon Rock State park you can feel the tension leave. The neighbor hood is quiet, the turkeys are running up the road and the deer come to the house for their corn. We have four different seasons and I can't pick a favorite. Spring is special because the cold and wet winter is over and the wildflowers are beautiful. Baby ducks are in the pond, and fawns are spotted hiding in the grass. Summer is a great time to sit at the pond and watch the fish jump. The Great Blue Heron agrees. You can tell when fall is approaching because the wind changes. It starts to feel crisp and the mornings will have a little bite to the air. The mountains around take on a lovely red and yellow before the leaves drop. The first snowfall of winter hits the mountains on the Oregon side first. The view from the kitchen window is always spectacular, but to watch the mountains turn white...
