I've been acquiring and redeveloping large apartment communities for nearly 30 years. In the 1990s, I helped pioneer large-scale apartment redevelopment while serving as an executive at AvalonBay Communities and Essex Property Trust. Over the course of my career, I've been responsible for the acquisition of more than 15,000 apartment homes, totaling over $1.3 billion in value.

In 1998, I founded my own investment company, which later merged into the San Francisco office of The Bascom Group. Like my co-founders, I'm an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin's Real Estate and Urban Land Economics program.

Throughout my career, I've worked with a range of institutional and private investment partners, including some of the largest life insurance companies and pension funds such as CalPERS, Metropolitan Life, Mass Mutual, and Oak Tree Capital. I've also partnered with ultra-high net worth investors, including the family office of William Wilson III, the iconic office developer.
