Thank you for visiting my page! I am Dennis Maakestad, a Realtor with Century 21 Circle in DeKalb, IL. I've been a Realtor in DeKalb County since 1980 and hope I can put my years of experience to work for you!! A bit of my history: I grew up in Dixon, IL and then came to DeKalb to attend NIU. After graduating from NIU with a business degree in 1973, I knew in my heart that I really wanted to teach so I returned to NIU and did some graduate work in education along with my student teaching. In 1974 I earned my teaching certification from the state of Illinois and was hired to teach in the middle grades at Kings, IL. I loved teaching, but felt a need to supplement my income and have a good job for the summer months so I took real estate classes and became licensed as a Realtor in 1980. Since 1980, I've worked with hundreds of buyers and sellers. I've also invested in income properties in DeKalb and Sycamore and found that to be another way to supplement my income. Both teaching and real estate have been very rewarding careers and I feel I did both well for many years. I retired from teaching in 2007 and am now devoted to real estate full time. For many years I've been active in the DeKalb community with my church and the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. I've worked locally and also traveled in the U.S. and around the world to help build Habitat homes. I'm currently on the board of directors for Barb City Manor. I am proud to be a member of the Century 21 Circle team. We are among the most successful real estate offices in DeKalb County. In 2008, my first full time year in real estate, I was the Number 2 agent in our Century 21 Circle company of over twenty agents. In the years since then I've consistently been a top producer, being #1 in 2013 and 2016. I have been a multi million dollar producer for many years. I have many happy clients to thank for that success! Over the years I have built a client base of satisfied customers who provide me with referrals and call-backs each year.
