After retiring from the Navy in 1997 and working in Network Television advertising for the next seven years, a great friend convinced me that Real Estate was the place I should be. I've been practicing full time ever since. When confronted with a hard decision I don't always take the easy way; doing the right thing is not always the easiest. Like I tell my clients and friends, "I was raised not hatched." I don't know any other way to treat people that to treat them like I would want my own family to be treated. l grew up in rural America, and drug a hammer till I could pick it up. Helping my parents renovate houses while we lived in them gave me a skill set that sets me apart from most agents. The combination of my Military Service, Marketing, and Construction backgrounds makes Real Estate a perfect fit. A wise man once said, "Do something you Love and you'll never work another day in your life." I would love the opportunity to assist you with your next Real Estate transaction. Doug's knowledge of the area is top notch. With me being a first-time home buyer, Doug did a great job with helping me navigate the home search and buying process. The home I purchased has lots of custom intricacies and Doug demonstrated a good deal of knowledge around all the upgrades. Even with a few hiccups along the way, Doug was able to keep our closing on track and helped all parties keep a even keel and not panic. Matt in the Lake James Century 21 Office had been our most recent rental property manager for 3725 Gladstone Drive, Virginia Beach.September 2020
When we decided it was time to sell, asked Matt for recommendation for a top notch agent, who would work well with us in reaching our goal of a good, successful sale. He felt Doug would be the right match for us. He was so correct in his assessment. We did not live in the area, and had been with Century 21 for many years.
As mentioned previously, Doug was all of these and more. Doug was truly the professional real estate gentleman we had hoped and prayed to find.
He was very patient with us, especially in helping us with long distance on line documents. We could not have had a better experience than he provided. We would rate him a 12+ on a 10 point scale!!
Doug was our only Century 21 sales person contact. The best!!
Doug's part in all of this experience was great.However, I could not say the same for the buyers agent.
Doug was the consummate professional who paid great attention to detail and was so knowledgeable.
It was a pleasure to finally meet him in person ! A simple thank you is not enough.
You do not want to loose him!!

I have worked with quite a few real estate agents in my travels, but from now on my agent in VA is Douglas Albert. He is Knowledgeable, polite, and very helpful. I know it is not always the case but he sold my house in 2 days! I also used him to purchase a home, and he found Us the best house ever. He will help you in any way he can, and if he can't answer your question he will find the answer. He is also great with children and dogs! If you need an agent in VA Doug Albert is the one I would recommend, and have many times to close friends. I can't wait to work with him again in the future. March 2017
