This was 5 years ago, and we always remembered Jared's professional character and knowledge about the local real estate market. He took the time to explain things to us and showed us respect even though we weren't his clients at the time. He's just a very nice person. A bank loan officer recommended Jared Van Cleave. When Jared visited the house for a close look, he showed his knowledge and appreciation of 1950s homes, their construction, etc. When I told Jared that I was down to 2 brokers, Jared and another, he provided additional helpful information and displayed further knowledge and appreciation of the type of modest house I had and its neighborhood that tipped the balance in his favor. He provided comparison information from similar homes and neighborhoods. He and the other broker identified similar problems with the house, but had different ways to deal with them. Both had similar sales strategies, but I felt Jared's was more realistic. April 2020
The sale process went smoothly. He was very quick to respond to my questions and never rolled his eyes. We were in perfect agreement on the sales strategy. Jared kept me informed on the progress toward closing.
Jared was exactly what I needed in a real estate agent.

This is the second time I've used Jared Van Cleave for a realtor. When I decided to sell my house and buy a new one just a few months before my wedding, I knew it was a long shot. Thankfully Jared is super efficient, calm, and creative. He helped make what could have been a super stressful time in my life become a super exciting one instead. Thanks to his networking and knowledge of the area, my house sold in a day and he found me a new one within a week....in the school district I wanted and within my price range. Once we got this done, he continued to send me regular emails to help me keep track of all the details and was great at responding promptly to all my last minute texts. I'm so thankful for Jared. His help and my new house are definitely an answer to my prayers. I hope to never move again but if I have to, I'll definitely have Jared be my realtor.

I would highly recommend Jared's services to anybody moving into the Ames area for the first time. He was responsive, knowledgeable about the local area, and willing to do the extra steps to make the home-buying process as easy as possible.November 2019
For instance, we were unable to travel to Ames in person for a visit, so he offered to take us on a video tour. His video tour was almost just as good as an in-person visit. He showed us everything, gave us a great feel for the house, and left us feeling comfortable making an offer without an in-person visit.
Also, throughout closing he was attentive, well-organized, and extremely helpful answering questions. He would send weekly updates as closing approached with detailed lists outlining the next steps so that you never felt like you had to chase him to find out what was going on. By far the best real estate agent I've worked with, and an extraordinary professional.

We had received several recommendations for realtors from friends - but we hadn't had time to meet with these realtors or evaluate them. Jared Van Cleave had recently sold the houses of other friends - and they had good experiences and recommended him to us - and had also given him our name. Soon after Jared came to introduce himself to us when we were having coffee with these friends. He also followed up to inform us he had a young couple who he thought would be interested in our house - so it was very easy for us just to work with him. He was very pleasant and cooperative to work with - and of course - it was very nice for us that he had just the right client for our house !! So we would be happy to recommend Jared to other sellers - and know he would do all he could to make their home selling experience as simple as possible for them. As an acreage it's a tricky home to market as it's not like other "residential" properties. We had unique situation with the sale of our home. My job took me to Atlanta, GA and my wife and 3 kids stayed in our home in Ames, IA until it sold. We didn't know how long that would take. We couldn't make an offer on a home in GA until we had a binding contract with no contingencies. Needless to say, lots of unknowns, but we needed our home in IA to sell ASAP so we could "move on" and start a new life. July 2015
Jared was amazing during the whole process. He presented market information and comparable home sales in the region and helped us make an educated starting listing price. We only made a couple adjustments to our price at Jared's recommendation. He was very aware and concerned with our "NET" takeaway at the end. He cared for us through the difficulty and stress of tons of showings, multiple offers, and money conversations.
Jared's team at Century 21 was on top of every detail almost faster than they came around. I was never left with unanswered questions or cloudy details.
