This was the second home that John Wallace helped us with within a year. Last year after we were relocated as a result of the Camp Fire, John helped us find our new home. Selling a home, after over twenty five years, is one of the most stressful things I have ever done. In all honesty, I was terrified! John was so knowledgeable, and extremely patient, explaining everything in terms that we could understand. He made suggestions, but never pushed us into anything. I soon learned that his advice was always spot on. We started looking for a larger home just before the horrible fire in Paradise. Within no time at all, there was a shortage of homes. We needed to find a home with enough space for my elderly father, who was going to live with us, and each day our chances of finding a place grew slimmer. There were times that we felt so discouraged, but John never lost hope, and even though he was extremely busy, he made us feel like we were his only clients. When we decided to sell, I knew exactly who to call. I had spoken to John on several occasions, through our business, and knew that he would be the perfect fit. That was a decision that proved to be spot on. After being in our home for 25 years, we had no idea where to start with the selling process, but John did. He guided us through the listing process, spent hours making sure our contract was exactly the way we wanted it, and never once pushed us to proceed until we were ready. John was encouraging, yet realistic, about us finding a home in the now slim market. As we put offers in on one house after another, and got outbid, time after time, John wouldn't let us lose hope. About the time that we felt like we would never find another home, John called and told me about a new listing. It was only online for a few minutes, showing just the outside of the home, then it was taken down. It was the most beautiful house I'd ever seen, and perfect for us, but it was on hold. The house was in probate and no one knew how long the legal process could take. For three months John contacted the seller's agent, on almost a daily basis, reminding them that we were still interested. Each time he got a response, he shared it with us, good or bad, and kept us apprised of the progress, or the lack there of. He never let us give up hope. Persistence, and an awesome agent, payed off. After several months of staring at the exterior pictures of a house that already felt like ours, we were finally able to go inside. We put an offer in immediately, then waited as the lawyers and courts went through the process. It felt as though it would never end... But, with John's guidance, we ended up signing the papers on that home about two weeks ago. Every time I walk in the door, I have to smile, because we waited so long to make that house ours. John was so much more than a real estate agent. He offered hope and encouragement, friendship, patience and never ending professionalism. For us, it was so much more than just deciding we wanted to move. I had my aging father to worry about, and a business to take into consideration; John understood that and went above and beyond what we asked of him. He was with us from the very start, through all of the difficulties and disappointments, and there to share the happiness the day we could call the house ours. I firmly believe that if we hadn't had John in our corner, we would still be looking for a home.
