Every realtor clams to be service-oriented, and some are, but few can match the level of service and consideration I experienced in working long-distance with Risa Sechler.

Finding Risa was pure luck (or pure blessing). I was 1,600 miles west of Fort Wayne and had no idea how to choose a realtor. Looking through listings online I saw Risa's face and just knew she was someone I could count on for expert guidance, even under unusual circumstances.

I handed Risa a nearly impossible task. I was half a continent away, had never even visited Fort Wayne, was working within a very limited budget and it was Christmas time. Providing referrals to a good contractor and multiple subcontractors for all the repairs necessary to sell my house was key. Richard assessed the house repeatedly looking for all the details that needed upgrading. This provided for an excellent showing and quick closing. I chose him because he is familiar with the neighborhood and what buyers in this marketplace are looking for. He knew where to have me spend money in the house and what would not result in a return on my investment. In the end I spent more money than I wanted to spend in doing the remodeling. But the house sold in less than a week with multiple offers closing for way above asking price!!! So I actually made more money than I thought I would. How does it get any better than that? In my situation it was crucial to get the house on the market and sell as soon as possible. Even though it was the middle of winter, a notoriously slow time to sell real estate, Richard had buyers interested in the house lined up before it went on the market. Because it was move-in ready, we got the perfect buyers right away. He made doing all the paperwork easy and answered all my questions completely. When the final inspection resulted in the necessity to remove a huge tree, Richard got quote after quote after quote until I was happy with the lowest price possible to get the job done. And the work was done in time to close escrow and everyone was satisfied. You need a competent real estate agent you can trust who knows what they are doing. Look no further, Richard Rutledge is that guy. The bonus is that he's really nice and easy to work with as well.

I don't know anything about home buying, and I typically am untrusting of people who need commission.

Matt proved himself trustworthy, available, knowledgable, and full of charisma.

He was always available for us, and that's something I can barely do with my day job. He was available on weekends, even on vacation. I don't know that that's best for everyone, but everything he did for us was helpful and very noticeable. Matt made a process that seemed impossible, extremely doable for us. We are so thankful for working with him.

I typically would crosscheck everything he told and advised us with friends and family, and they confirmed what he had said.

I can't imagine the homebuying experience without Matt by our side.

Full disclosure: we tried to buy a house last year, but it wasn't working out for us financially. We originally worked with Matt then, and because of how helpful he was last year, we chose to work with him this year when we actually did buy a house. We are so thankful we did!
