"In my school, what I enjoy most are the people. Almost every teacher and student on my campus have a very welcoming an family vibe to them. I believe that this is due to the diversity that is seen on campus. These people are what make school enjoyable for me. What I dislike about my school is the lack of necessary supplies that it has. For instance, I am involved in the performing arts department of my school and we a lack a lot of technology (ie. sound systems, microphones, and dance rooms for practicing). Our school also lacks in its outside appearance. There isn't very many plants on campus and a lot of dirt patches where plants once stood. Although I share a great amount of pride toward my school the outside of it just looks sad."

"At Otay Ranch, they really prepare you for college as shown by its California Gold Ribbon Award and they highly encourage its students to take AP classes . They also have a considerable variety of sports. The safe environment that the students and teachers create allows people to wander around school without feeling unsafe. Not only that, but its spirit and unity is shown though its assemblies and several spirit weeks that occur throughout the year. There is a greater diversity of students than any other high school I have ever seen. But despite this great diversity, there are still some races that are considered minorities which include Whites, African Americans, and American Indian or Alaskan Natives. I would love to see more people of these races within my school. Despite them being minorities, they are treated no less than anyone else. That is another thing about this school, they do not neglect nor discriminate based on race, and there are rarely any conflicts involving race."

"Otay Ranch High School is a great school. If you care about sports, the students and staff really put emphasis on football. If you care about academics, the teachers are usually great and are kind. If you care about clubs, there's a great amount of diversity in clubs (i.e. video game club, anime club, computer club, etc.)"

"Otay Ranch High School is a good school that cares deeply about the success of their students. The culture one that is focused and centered on molding students to be ready for college. That, however, they do emphasize school spirits, involvement in the arts, and involvement in sports. Otay ensures that it keeps academics above of everything else. Sports coaches ensure that their athletes are excelling in the classroom before they step foot on the field. If a student is having academic trouble then, the coaches assign and require that the athlete attend tutoring. Teachers care about the success of their students, they expect nothing but the best. However, they are relatable and build a relationship with the students that establishes a mutual respect. By being relatable and building a mutual relationship, it makes it easier for the student to want to give their best. Teachers also do their best to make learning as enjoyable as it can, by conducting various labs or telling a few jokes."
