A New Jersey native, Tammy moved to Florida at a young age and grew up in Jacksonville, FL. She relocated to the central Florida region after accepting an indoor volleyball scholarship to play at Webber International University. There, she grew fond of beach volleyball also and continues to coach the sport today, currently assisting the indoor program at South Florida State College.
