Todd Van Orman
Todd Van Orman, MBA, BFA is excited to be a part of the Century 21 Morrison Realty team! In addition to his role as a Realtor®, Todd is also a Professor of Finance and Economics at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, teaching various courses containing real estate elements, including Personal Finance, Banking, and Investments. He also brings a wealth of knowledge from previous experience in a variety of real estate related industries. Prior to joining academia, Todd spent several years in the banking sector, which included analysis and review of commercial and consumer mortgage loans and property appraisals, and performing property evaluations. He has also worked in the investment industry and has experience analyzing real estate as a financial asset.
With an MBA degree, Todd understands the financial aspects of real estate, including the analysis of individual property values and local, state, and national trends that impact the market. Todd also holds a Behavioral Financial Advisor designation, which allows him to go beyond the numbers with clients, to discuss the emotional impacts that often accompany the purchase or sale of a home. As a professor, and recognizing the large, complex, and sometimes overwhelming nature of transactions, he brings a teacher's approach to real estate, working with clients to ensure they understand and are comfortable asking questions regarding each step of the purchase and selling process. This includes working with prospective clients to complete a review of their financial situation, to help them determine how a property can comfortably fit their budgets.
Born in Mandan, Todd currently resides in Bismarck with his wife and daughter. Todd has been a lifelong resident of the area and is dedicated to the growth and improvement of our state and community. He currently sits on both the Audit Committee and Investment Committee for the State Investment Board of North Dakota; is a past member of the Bismarck Renaissance Zone Authority; and is a past Board member and President of North Dakota Jump$tart and the Real World Camp, which focus on teaching financial literacy to area youth. He volunteers for events with the Light of Christ Catholic Schools and is an active member of Corpus Christi Parish. In his free time, Todd is an avid reader and enjoys traveling and experiencing the North Dakota outdoors....
