When I started in 2005, the market was booming, but quickly declined, and that offered me the opportunity to be in the forefront of a diversification in how people looked at real estate. I used my passion for real estate to help families that needed to sell in a declining market. I became a certified Short Sale Specialist to help those families through rough times, and I have been blessed to be part of helping other families in their adventures to make the most important and expensive investment of their lifetime. Over a decade later, with my roots firmly planted in Virginia, I have sold over 120 million dollars of Real Estate. For the past ten years I have been one of Century 21's top 100 agents in the Mid-Atlantic Region. I have stayed completely vested in this ever-changing market and I fully utilize the resources I have discovered along my way: professional photographers, videographers, top notch settlement companies, lenders and inspectors. Paula came into an awful situation. Our house had been a rental that was managed by a Property Manager. We were absentee landlords. Our contract with the property manager stipulated that we list the home for sale with them. After the house sat on the market for 4 months in a neighborhood where the average time on the market was less than 2 weeks, we fired the property manager. Paula inspected the house and strongly encouraged us to make a trip to see it. In short, the house was a disaster. Paula effectively guided us through the process of repairing and restoring the house to a salable condition. This process took over 5 months and costs tens of thousands of dollars. As we were not local, Paula helped in finding and managing contractors as well as providing excellent advice as to what needed to be done. When the repairs were complete, she staged the house for us. The bottom line was that we had three offers over the asking price in less than 36 hours from the time the house went on the market. We are in out 70's and had a military career. As with all military families, we moved often. In that time we have bought and sold a number of houses and Paula is hands-down the best agent we have ever dealt with.
